Aet. 53 Ao 1636. in ink written on bottom of print: Ao 1620. Muller 2016. Van Beresteyn 12. The given age is based on fantasy: the original portrait was made in 1631. But obviously the publisher wanted an up-to-date portrait of Grotius.
